Sling Shot Charlie`s in Arlington

Absolutely hands down best home cooked food ever! Always a great experience and never had bad food, always hot, fresh and delicious!! Save room for dessert! Will always be a loyal customer for life...

Well, made a special trip to try this restaurant out. Sign said open until 8, was closed at 3:30. Don't know if the food is good or not!

I have never had a bad thing from Sling Shot Charlie's. The daily specials are so awesome, especially the catfish and the fried chicken. The fried green tomatoes are scrumptious! Basically, you can't go wrong with fried food here. Also, save room for dessert because they are DELICIOUS! Especially their marvelous chocolate cake and their chocolate cobbler!

We were driving home with our new puppy and wanted some real home-cookin’ between Memphis and Nashville. This place is a real gem! Friendly folks brought out a kitchen cart so we could eat on their front porch with our doggos. The food was incredible! Hubby said chicken n’ dumplins was by far the best he’s ever had. Everything was homemade and delicious. Don’t miss the yeast rolls and cobbler. We plan to make the drive again soon just for Slingshot Charlie’s. Definitely worth five hours roundtrip on I40 for this grub.

Really good country-style diner. Cheeseburgers were outstanding. Way above average burgers. Overall good experience here.

Food was good. Overall really good first impression. Staff was friendly and food was hot. Never had biscuit pudding and it was great.

I really liked the Wings with Spicy BBQ sauce and had butter finger ice cream. It was all great!

This has become a family favorite! We love the atmosphere and the food cannot be beat! Goo southern food that takes us back to the days in grandma’s kitchen. We drive nearly an hour to get here but it’s well worth the drive.

Atmosphere great. The food was wonderful. I felt like my mom was in the kitchen and she has been in heaven for a long time. Don't miss out on eating here. All the food is made from scratch and is sooooo good.

Sling Shot Charlie’s is one of my top three favorite restaurants in the Memphis area. If I was l leaving Memphis and never coming back, I would make Sling Shot Charlie’s one of my final meals. The food is always excellent, the portions are always large enough that we have left-overs and the prices are reasonable. Our favorites include: Honey Gold Wings and Fried Chicken Breast. All of the side-dishes have been great. The desserts that we’ve tried have been amazing with the pecan pie being the favorite. A relative from Iowa has proclaimed the pecan pie at Sling Shot Charlie’s to be “the best I’ve ever had”. High praise indeed. Even though it is a little bit of a drive from Bartlett, it is totally worth it and is one of our go-to restaurants when we have out-of-town guests visit us. Be prepared for a little bit slower-pace when you walk through the front door. But the service is always friendly, the food is always excellent and the wait is always worth it.

I've never had one food item that wasn't good. My favorites are fried catfish fillets and Turkey & dressing

It actually deserves a -7...FIRST of all, i ASKED how many wings did you get for $12 (which seemed pretty steep for anywhere)....I was told 6 which i thought was reasonable so i proceeded with my order...i got THREE...THREE WINGS!!! for $12..AND 1 of the wings were BURNED (see photos)....also, and i dont know what universe LIMA BEANS are regarded as BUTTER BEANS!!!, if you were out just say so, i would have choosen something else...I was ROBBED, and the food was soooo bad, i was afraid to even give it to the DOG!!!....i will be telling anybody and everybody on every media i can that if they dont want to be ROBBED of their money AND a good meal, stay clear of THIS place....do NOT go there...really?, THREE WINGS for $12 that wont EVER happen again!!! and hopefully i can save someone else from a TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME!!!!...😠😡

On of the best places in the Memphis area for a good home style meal. The fried pork tenderloin is so big it hangs off both sides of your plate. And it is delicious.

My lady friend an I are a couple of Yankees, who were in the area looking at property and visiting relatives. We found Slingshot Charlie's with a Google Maps search for a restaurant in the area for a Sunday lunch.the restaurant atmosphere is simple, but warm like your grandmother's house. All of the staff are friendly, courteous, and helpful. The food was.....SIMPLY AMAZING! I can't wait for our next trip to Tennessee so we can teturn

Very busy but wait is worth it! Lots of fried foods, side items, hamburgers and desserts. Favorite was jalapeno hushpuppies. Cutely decorated place that provides lots to look at. Fried catfish perfectly fried.

The food here is the best southern cooking you will have and the sweet tea in mason jars is a nice touch. The only thing I would say is that it takes a long time to get your food so you have to prepare to wait a while. Come here when you want to sit and converse and have time to wait for the food. Other than the wait time (which is understandable because it is so busy because it is good) and the hours the place is highly recommended.

1st time. Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and fried green tomatoes. Everything was wonderful and cooked just perfect with it's own taste! Worth the hour drive.
